Hi there! We’re Aysun and Zack, the hearts behind The Turkey and The Fox.

Our story began during the quiet days of the pandemic, when a chance meeting quickly turned into something special. As we got to know each other, Aysun would often share vibrant stories of her homeland, Turkey—its rich history, warm hospitality, and the timeless beauty of its handmade rugs. For years, we dreamed of visiting together, and in the summer of 2024, that dream finally came true.

It was on that first visit that Zack fell in love with the deep-rooted traditions of Turkish culture—especially the art of tea and the soulful craftsmanship of vintage rugs. What started as a personal search for a meaningful keepsake quickly blossomed into something much bigger: a shared passion for preserving and sharing these beautiful works of art.

That passion brought us to Mehmet—affectionately known as the “Turkish Carpet King.” With over 35 years of experience and national recognition in Turkey, Mehmet is a master of his craft. Today, we’re honored to partner with him in sourcing some of the finest vintage, handmade Turkish rugs available.

Every rug we offer is hand-selected, crafted from natural fibers, and lovingly made by skilled artisans. Each piece carries a story—woven through time, tradition, and heritage. We hope they bring as much warmth and character to your home as they do to ours.
